Detektiv Murdoch se společně s kolegy vypraví na kratochvíle spojené se svátkem Viktorie. Právě zde jsou zvábeni jistým kabaretem, který se chlubí největšími baviči své doby. Bohužel, volnočasové rozptýlení nebude mít dlouhého trvání, neboť se vyšetřovatelům přímo k nohám snese mrtvé tělo. Tedy velmi nepodařený vtip. Případ se zdá být jasným aktem sebevraždy – ale zdání klame. Podezřelým a současně možnou obětí je svého času ještě nepříliš známý fištrón Charlie Chaplin; okolo místa činu se dále motá i mladík jménem Stanley Laurel či klučina zvaný Buster Keaton. Jak asi dopadne tato smrtící groteska? A než stačí nesmělý William Murdoch pookřát, konstábl Higgins všem oznámí šťastnou novinu, která však některým kamarádům přidělá vrásky na čele… (Česká televize)
