Detektiv Murdoch vyšetřuje smrt zdravotní sestry Collinsové. Nejspíše byla zabita pacientkou Rose Maxwellovou, umístěnou na oddělení pro nevyléčitelné psychické případy. Shodou okolností je to v nemocnici, kde pracuje i doktorka Ogdenová. Případ je obestřen řadou podivných okolností. Extrémně násilné Rose se neznámým způsobem podařilo dostat ven ze svého uzamčeného pokoje a omráčit strážce. Na těle zavražděné Collinsové je nalezeno čtrnáct bodných ran a také stopy po kousnutí. A na vražedné zbrani zůstaly otisky prstů hned několika žen. Pozornost policistů přitahují i příliš pravidelné návštěvy bratra Rose, Cedrika Maxwella na uzavřeném ženském oddělení...(Česká televize)
