Napriek tomu, že bol neustále pod ochranou dvoch federálnych šerifov, zastrelili ho. Federálni agenti Zidan a Bellová sú presvedčení, že informátor, ktorý poznal utajené miesto Cruzovho pobytu a prezradil ho drogovej mafii, musel pochádzať z ich vlastných radov v FBI.
