Kamarádka Marge, Selma, svobodná stará panna, začne na stará kolena moc toužit po dítěti. Jedinou možností je adopce, ale k tomu je potřeba otec. Spolu s Marge přemluví Homera, který se aspoň na chvíli musí vydávat za jejího manžela. Nakonec všichni odlétají do Číny, kde je možno adoptovat jedno čínské děvčátko.
