Známy súkromný detektív nájde v jazere auto nezvestného poručíka námornej pechoty, dediča miliónovej firmy. Práve v tej chvíli sa do vyšetrovania zapojí NCIS. Prvý dôkaz naznačuje, že muž bol zastrelený a potom auto s mŕtvolou spadlo do jazera. Slávny detektív sa už vidí ako majiteľ štedrej odmeny za dolapenie vraha. Tým by mal byť brat obete. Gibbsovi sa však dôkazy nepozdávajú, a tak všetko znova dôkladne preverí. Z vraždy sa náhle stane autonehoda a detektív čelí žalobe kvôli manipulácii s dôkazmi.(TV Markíza)
