Otec editorky beze stopy zmizí a s ním i 150 milionů dolarů.Jessica se v New Yorku schází se svou editorkou, Sally Wilsonovou, a zjišťuje, že její otec, Buck Wilson, možná bude chtít koupit i vydavatelskou firmu jejich románů. Když se s ním pak potká v restauraci, kterou Wilson právě koupil, ráda by si o tom promluvila, avšak od jisté chvíle již není nikde k nalezení. A když následujícího dne zmizí i 150 milionů dolarů z podnikových fondů, jen málokdo si obě tyto ztráty nespojuje. Pár hodin na to se pak u Wilsonových objeví věštkyně Marika, uspořádá seanci a oznámí, že byl Buck Wilson zabit. Jaké je však překvapení, když ji chvíli nato naleznou mrtvou na místě, které původně předpověděla právě Wilsonovi. Hlavním podezřelým se stává výstřední šofér Carl, ovšem Jessice nesedí motiv, a tak v pátrání pokračuje.(Radek273)
